Santa + Wienermobile = Magic

Today was Sunday and two important things happened: 1) we went to the fire house to hang out with Santa and climb on fire trucks 2) we happened upon a Wienermobile in the parking lot of a grocery store down the road.

It was in the mid-60s today, which was a glorious reprieve after some really cold days lately. What a relief to skip the winter coat battles and simply step outside to play.

We had planned to go see the Crozet Christmas parade and then Santa at the firehouse after, but the boys chose to stay home and play and skip the parade. So we just popped in for a brief Santa visit and some fire truck time.

We ran into Theo's friend Anya from school. Here they are in front of the fire truck.
Theo had a hard time thinking of what he wanted for Christmas, because most of his "wants" were fulfilled by his birthday: two pairs of footie pajamas, a Flash shirt, Spider-Man Legos and Play-Mobil knights and a knight castle, among other things. I have to say: footie pjs bring this kid pure joy. I have never seen anything like it.

Willem told Santa he wanted a "Halloween ball". First I have heard of that but I am sure it exists somewhere out there! My guess is pretty much anything orange and black could fit the bill. I think maybe he just said the first thing that came to his head.

Willem was hesitant about Santa but went up eventually, probably because Theo was there with him.

We were driving to pick up some Christmas lights that were gifted to me from the Crozet "Buy Nothing" Facebook group and passed Great Value, which is right down the road from our house. Parked in front of the store was nothing other than a Wienermobile! We were puzzled, perplexed and intrigued; we made a plan to stop in on our way home after getting the lights. And oooh boy, were we glad we did!

Gloriously happy as hot dogs

They wore those hot dogs a really long time.

Still in the hot dogs.

Running around, still in the hot dogs. Wienermobile girl starting to look a little miffed
